What’s a ramp? On our Podcast Smidgen, store owner Anne asked just that. Anne interviewed JQ Dickenson Salt Artisan Nancy Bruns to talk all things salt – including Ramp Salt. Nancy explained that a ramp is a wild onion found in the eastern United States – ramp season is brief, and folks can be found in the woods foraging for the coveted alliums. JQ Dickenson’s Ramp Salt is a way to enjoy ramps year round. Sprinkle it anywhere you want savory, umami saltiness – like these fingerling potatoes!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Divide the potatoes between two sheet pans. Drizzle with Roasted Garlic Avocado Oil and season with Ramp Salt. Toss to coat.
  • Roast for 15-20 mins or until they can be pierced with a fork. Increase the oven temp to 425°F and add the sage leaves to the pans. Drizzle with a little additional oil. Roast for 10 mins or until the potatoes are browned and crispy on the edges.
  • Remove from the oven and carefully taste a potato. Add more salt if needed – the best time to add additional salt is when they are piping hot.
