We draw tons of inspiration from Ina Garten at Red Stick Spice Company—especially in our Teaching Kitchen. Many of our good habits are a direct result of the Barefoot Contessa – we even blogged about it! So many of Ina’s dishes are staples for us. From Rosemary and Chipotle Roasted Nuts to Blueberry Ricotta Breakfast Cake, there are so many recipes that all home cooks can use. So many so, that we’ve rounded up even more Ina-inspired recipes. From the first sip to dessert, here are seven go-to recipes to add to your rotation.
1- Farro Salad with Herbes de Provence
This interesting, grain-filled farro salad is a take on Ina Garten’s salad, but we lean into the classic flavors of Herbes de Provence. In the vinaigrette, Herbes de Provence blend melds into Herbes de Provence Extra Virgin Olive Oil, vinegar and spices for a zesty dressing for this fun salad. Salted pistachios, peppery arugula, sweet cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs come together for a hearty, healthy year-round salad.
2- Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Croutons
Get ready for a fun twist on a comforting classic. We give this creamy tomato soup some smoky zip with our Smoked Tomato Blend and Smoked Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The grilled cheese croutons are a toasty, golden, crunchy, cheesy dippable and dunkable topping for this bowl of comfort.
3- Overnight Mac & Cheese
Leave it to Ina Garten to deliver the ultimate in comfort food in a convenient overnight version. This recipe is a revelation in making sure flavors meld and decadence builds. The tender macaroni swims in a rich, creamy cheese sauce. We add in the classic ground mustard flavor with our House Blend – an aromatic, mustard-rich, all-purpose pantry staple. Indulgent and satisfying and ready to feed a crowd. We love this minimal fuss, delicious dish from Ina.
4-Crispy Lemon Chicken with Orzo
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are a convenient dinnertime solution – unless they’re dry. Forget solution, now you’ve got a problem on your hands. The remedy? It starts with your knife and cutting board. We love to create cutlets from boneless, skinless chicken breasts. They cook quickly and evenly which gives you more control and keeps the thinner sections from drying out. We love chicken cutlets in this bright, lemony dish and the crispy, crunchy end result. Our Lemon Pepper gives the chicken a little pop and the Lemon Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the perfect match. Served alongside the lemony orzo and feta, this recipe is a definite keeper!
5- Perfect Chocolate Cake
This chocolate cake has been a game changer in the Teaching Kitchen. Truth be told, there aren’t many really good chocolate cake recipes out there. They often turn out dry or just don’t say “chocolate!” This chocolate cake speaks loud and clear. It’s a cake that we eat sans frosting, topping, filling or even a dust of powdered sugar – straight up, it’s that good. Our Pure Chocolate Extract and Pure Vanilla Extract go to work to make this cake absolutely perfect. We use this cake for the base of our Mini Baked Alaskas – big fun and big chocolate flavor!
6- Ina’s Lemon Bars
Another Ina Garten classic: these lemon bars are a quintessential treat, featuring a buttery shortbread crust topped with a luscious and tangy lemon filling. We upped the shortbread’s saltiness with our Baker’s Salt to give some contrast to the tart-sweet filling. These zesty treats are perfect for satisfying sweet cravings and brightening any occasion with their refreshing taste.
