Ingredients

For the Cream Cheese Filling:
1 8-oz package cream cheese
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup King Cake Filling blend
For the King Cake:
2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
For the Glaze & Topping:
2 cups powdered sugar
2-4 Tbl milk
Purple, Green & Gold sugar

Roll into King Cake season with this fun and easy recipe. Store-bought crescent rolls are a great way to celebrate the season with a warm, flaky King Cake made simple. We use our King Cake Filling to perfectly spice the cream cheese filling. Shape into a ring, hide a baby inside and bake to perfection. This shortcut version a great King Cake recipe for teen and tween bakers. Serve this King Cake warm for breakfast. Leftovers make for a yummy snack!

Instructions

1.Heat oven to 375°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment. Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese, brown sugar and King Cake Filling blend until combined and smooth.
2.Open the crescent rolls and separate the triangles. Arrange the crescent rolls on the parchment-lined sheet pans in a circle, overlapping slightly with the narrow points facing inward. Leave a circle in the center.
3.Press the mid section of the crescent rolls together. Leave the points facing center hole and the outer edge loose. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the pressed section of crescent rolls.
4.Fold the points of the crescent rolls over the cream cheese mixture. Fold the edges of the crescent rolls to cover the points. Lightly press the dough to seal the folds.
5.Bake for 25 mins or until golden. Cool the King Cake. Combine the powdered sugar and 2 Tbl milk and stir until smooth. Add more milk if needed to create a spreadable consistency. Glaze the cooled King Cake and decorate with the colored sugar.
