Honey Simple Syrup, aka honey water, is a great way to add some sweetness to cocktails, mocktails or for sweetening iced tea! It’s challenging to incorporate honey in to cold beverages. It never seems to mix fully and often you can see it, in all its sweet, gooey glory. The fix? Thin it by making this honey simple syrup. It’s ready in less than 10 minutes and the infusion possibilities are endless. Cinnamon. Cardamom. Lavender. How will you flavor your Honey Simple Syrup? 1/2 cup Honey | |
1/2 cup water | |
2 tsp Lavender optional | |
1 Cinnamon Stick optional | |
6 Cardamom Pods optional |
1. | Combine the honey and water in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until the honey is dissolved. |
2. | If you want to make infused honey simple syrup, now is the time. Remove the honey water mixture from the heat and drop in the cinnamon, cardamom or lavender. For the cinnamon, be sure to bread the cinnamon stick into small pieces. For the cardamom, give the cardamom pods a little crush. |
3. | Allow the syrup to cool completely and then strain off the solids. |
4. | Store the honey simple syrup in a glass container in the fridge for up to 30 days. |
