minutesThe sweet tart flavor of pomegranate pairs up with a rosemary simple syrup to make out one looker of a cocktail. Pretty to look at and even better when sipped. We turned to our Berry Blast Herbal Tea, a pomegranate studded superfruit blend, for a ruby red elixir that’s all dressed up and ready for a holiday party.
Ingredients
1/3 cup Berry Blast Tea
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Bourbon
Ice
Instructions
- First make the Berry Blast Tea: Steep 1/4 cup Berry Blast in 1 cup boiling water. You’re making a strong concentrate of this tea. It’s needed to stand up to the bourbon and give some body to the cocktail. Steep for 15 minutes. Strain and chill the steeped tea.
- Next, make the simple syrup: Add the sugar and water to a saucepan and heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is clear. Cook for about 5 mins until the mixture thickens slightly. Add in the rosemary. Turn off the heat, and steep the simple syrup for 30 mins. Remove the rosemary and chill the simple syrup.
- Create the cocktail: In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, add in 4 oz chilled Berry Blast tea, 4 oz Bourbon and 1 oz rosemary simple syrup. Shake and pour into cocktail coupes. Garnish with rosemary.
