Easy Pickled Red Cabbage

Our new favorite pickled item. Red cabbage is so versatile, healthy and great for adding a bit of crunch! Try this cabbage on our Baja Fish Tacos. Want to try more? Try out Sweet Quick Pickled Cucumbers or Quick Pickled Red Onions.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 Tbl Pickling Spice

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 Tbl sugar

  • 1/2 small head red cabbage, thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Bring the vinegar and water to a simmer. Add in the pickling blend, salt and sugar. Stir to dissolve.
  • Remove from heat and pour over the cabbage in a bowl or ready-to-store jar. Allow to sit for 30 mins to cool a bit.
  • This cabbage is excellent after just 30 mins, and it gets better and better as it sits in the fridge. Store in the fridge for 2 weeks.
