Shawarma is both a dish and a flavor profile. Shawarma from lamb, beef or chicken is a popular street food and is cut from a vertical rotisserie and piled into pita. Our Chicken Shawarma Blend is a flavor combination that brings layers of flavor to meat, vegetables or even a pot of rice. For these kabobs, we dry rub the chicken with our Shawarma Blend and allow it to sit and meld and build big beautiful flavors. A quick roast, then grab pita and Tzatziki. Here’s to street food at home!
Our number one question in the shop: How to I make boneless, skinless chicken breasts taste better? One answer is this very recipe. More answers are in our blog Three Technique for Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts. You asked, we answered!

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 375°F. Line a sheet pan with foil. Skewer the chicken pieces, alternating with onion pieces. Place on the sheet pan and drizzle any remaining marinade on the chicken.
  • Cut the breasts into 1 inch cubes. Place the cubes in a bowl and season lightly on all sides with salt. Add in the Shawarma Blend and drizzle in Caramelized Onion Avocado Oil to coat.
  • Marinate the chicken in the fridge for at least an hour – overnight, if time allows.
  • Roast for 15 minutes. Turn the skewers and rotate the pan. Continue roasting for anther 10-15 mins or until the chicken is cooked through with no visible pink and the juices run clear.
  • To serve, place a warm pita in the palm of your hand. Place a skewer on the pita and enclose it with your hand. With the other hand, pull the skewer to release the chicken and onions. Load up the sandwich with Tzatziki, sliced cucumbers and tomatoes.
