Ingredients

2 lb ground beef
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
2 tsp Louisiana Pepper Exchange Orange Habanero Pepper Puree
Toasted buns or seeded buns
Mayo, lettuce, red onion for serving
Cooked bacon, for serving
White cheddar cheese, for serving

As the habanero ripens from green to orange to red, the heat level rises. The folks at Louisiana Pepper Exchange grab those peppers and take advantage of their sweet (and spicy) spot with this Orange Habanero Pepper Puree. What’s a pepper puree? It’s not a salsa or a hot sauce. These pepper mash concentrates are ingredients to stock in your pantry. Grab them for your next batch of enchilada sauce, pot of chili or these delicious burgers. Talk about a better burger night!

Instructions

1.Add the ground beef, salt, pepper and Habanero Pepper Puree to a large mixing bowl. Mix by hand until incorporated and smooth.
2.Form into 6 burgers. Allow to rest for 15 minutes.
3.Sear stovetop in a cast iron or grill outdoors. Cook on one side at very high heat then turn, lower the heat and cook to desired internal temp.
4.Serve on a toasted bun with cheese, mayo, lettuce, red onion and cooked tomato.
