This classic graham cracker toffee gets a modern twist with the addition of Vanilla Bean Salt. The rich combo of butter,brown sugar and chocolate benefits from the balance of the salty bite. Make a batch! All you need are graham crackers,butter, brown sugar and chocolate chips. The baked brown sugar topping bubbles then candies into a crisp bite that’senrobed in silky chocolate. Break into shards for snacking or gifting. 

Ingredients

  • 15 graham cracker sheets

  • 2 cups butter (we used salted)

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (semi sweet or dark chocolate)

  • Vanilla Bean Salt

  • 1/2 cup roasted chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a half sheet pan with foil Spray the foil with nonstick spray. Place graham crackers ina single layer, side by side, touching, on the prepared pan.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat andsimmer for 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour mixture evenly over graham crackers. Bake for 8 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow to sit for 2 minutes, then use an offsetspatula to carefully and evenly spread the chocolate over the hot brown sugar-butter mixture. Sprinkle with VanillaBean Salt and then sprinkle pecans on top. Allow to cool completely in the pan. If you’re in a hurry, pop in thefridge or freezer. The chocolate should be completely hardened.
  • Break the toffee into small shards and arrange on a platter or box/bag for gifting!
