Ingredients

1 lb thick cut bacon
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 tsp Cayenne
1/2 tsp Vietnamese Cinnamon

When writing the intro for this recipe, we considered: “Bacon. Brown Sugar. Cinnamon. That is all.” That’s because this dish doesn’t need much more of a description. Brown sugar caramelizes on the smoky bacon, and we spice it just right with strong, aromatic Vietnamese Cinnamon. We love adding this to a brunch buffet. Amazing alongside a Bloody Mary. Or simply load up a buttered biscuit. Bacon!

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Combine the brown sugar, Cayenne and Vietnamese Cinnamon in a shallow dish.
3.Lay the bacon slices, one by one, in the brown sugar mixture. Move the slices, sugar side up, onto a baking rack placed over a sheet pan. As you move the bacon slices, some of the sugar will fall off. Press any lost sugar mixture back onto the bacon.
4.Bake until the bacon is crisp and candied - about 15-20 mins.
