This viral and trendy Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup is a fruit trifle that’s also a decadent dream. Melted milk chocolate, swirls fresh strawberries that’s layered with pistachio cream and salted, crispy Kataifi – shredded phyllo dough. We wanted to add a salty punch to the mix, and used Maldon to salt the buttery phyllo. The result? An explosion of textures and flavors: sweet, creamy, crunchy and tart.

Kataifi can be found in the freezer section of international stores. You can also thinly slice (mince) standard phyllo dough. Be sure to get it as small as possible – smaller than shredded paper.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Kataifi, cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 4 Tbsp butter

  • 1/2 tsp Maldon Salt

  • 1 cup pistachio cream

  • 10 strawberries, sliced

  • 2 cups chocolate chips, melted

  • chopped salted pistachios, for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. Add the Kataifi and saute until golden brown and crispy – about 8 minutes. Add the salt and stir.
  • Move the crispy Kataifi to a bowl and fold in the pistachio cream.
  • Layer the Kataifi, strawberries and melted chocolate in a clear glass. Top with chopped pistachios.
