The peppery bite from rye whiskey is the perfect compliment to spicy Chai tea. Anne steeped our Masala Chai Black Tea in milk then added a splash of simple syrup and rye. Wrap your hands around a mug of this Rye & Chai and get ready for a warm hug.
2 Tbl Masala Chai Tea | |
2 cups milk | |
2 oz simple syrup | |
2 oz rye whiskey |
1. | Break up 2 heaping Tablespoons of the Masala Chai Tea with a mortar and pestle. You can also place it in a ziptop bag and use a rolling pin to crush the tea. |
2. | Place the ground Masala Chai Loose Tea and milk in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Bring to a hard simmer then turn off. Cover and steep for 15 mins. |
3. | Strain off the tea leaves. Divide the hot milk between two large mugs. Divide the simple syrup and rye between the mugs. Stir, sip and enjoy. |
