The French Horse. Interesting cocktail name. Even more interesting cocktail. Mint meets cucumber meets lime meets vodka. They all walk in a bar. What could go wrong? Absolutely nothing. First we created a Marrakesh Mint simple syrup, blitzed up a cucumber and shook it up with vodka and lime. This cool refreshment is our new summertime sip. While the name makes no sense, the drink is 100% sensible.
1 heaping tsp Marrakesh Mint Green Tea | |
1 cup sugar | |
1 cup water | |
Juice of 1 lime | |
1 cucumber, peeled | |
1 oz vodka | |
2 oz Green Tea Simple Syrup |
1. | First, create the Marrakesh Mint simple syrup. Steep 1 heaping tsp Marrakesh Mint in a cup of near-boiling water. Steep for 5 mins. Strain off leaves. Pour the 1 cup hot tea into a pot with 1 cup sugar. Cook over low until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens slightly. About 5 mins. Cool the simple syrup and set aside. |
2. | Blitz the cucumber in a food processor and strain. Press on the solids to press out as much juice as possible. |
3. | Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in 1 oz vodka, 1 oz cucumber juice, 2 oz Marrkesh Mint simple syrup and 1 oz lime juice. Shake. |
4. | Pour into a small rocks glass. Delicious cold and straight up or on the rocks. |
