Here’s a twist on “spritz culture” and how we’re taking trendy Aperol from the glass to the snack bowl! Aperol Glazed Nuts are easy to make and a fun taste sensation! Mixed nuts a roasted with a sweet and salty mixture studded with the citrusy essence of Aperol or Campari. The glaze caramelizes as it bakes, creating a crunchy coating. French Herb Salt is the perfect addition to this addictive snack.
2 tsp French Herb Salt | |
3 Tbl Aperol or Campari | |
1 Tbl Honey | |
1 egg white | |
1 lb mixed, raw nuts | |
Grated zest of one orange |
1. | Preheat the oven to 250°F and line a sheet pan with parchment. |
2. | In a large bowl, combine the Aperol and honey, then add the egg white and whisk until the mixture froths. Stir in the nuts and toss using a rubber spatula until the nuts are well-coated. Sprinkle with the French Herb Salt and toss to distribute. |
3. | Spread the nuts on the lined sheet pan and bake for 1 hour, tossing every 20 minutes or so using a rubber spatula to prevent clumping. Once the nuts are golden brown and toasted, remove from the oven and sprinkle with orange zest and a little additional French Herb Salt, then allow to cool to room temperature. |
4. | The nuts may clump a bit and will be sticky while hot, so toss by hand to break up any remaining candy coating once cooled. Serve in a bowl to accompany a cheese board or as a snack. Fantastic on salads. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. |
