Tuck this simple syrup in your fridge and as each day goes by, say thank you. That’s because as it steeps, it gets better and better. Green Cardamom Pods swim in simple syrup and stand at the ready for sweetening tea and crafting cocktials – like our Green Appletini. We also use this simple syrup too make our delectable Cardamom Whipped Cream perfect for spooning onto pies (or directly into your mouth.)
1 cup sugar | |
1 cup water | |
1/4 cup Whole Cardamom Pods |
1. | Bring sugar and water to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 10 mins. The syrup should be slightly reduced and have darkened a shade. |
2. | Turn off the heat. Add in the Cardamom Pods and cover the pod. Allow to sit until cooled. |
3. | Transfer to a jar and store in the fridge for 3 days. After 3 days, strain off the Cardamom Pods. The syrup can be stored in the fridge an additional 10 days. Use to sweeten tea. Excellent for cocktails. We love it to make whipped cream. |
