Our signature hot cocoa mix delivers a warm, spicy twist from cayenne and cinnamon. We sell tons of Aztec Spiced Cocoa during the winter. Here’s a great reason to pull it out of the pantry on warm weather days!
Ingredients
3 oz semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate
2 heaping tsp Aztec Spiced Cocoa
1 Tbl granulated sugar
1 cup whole milk
3 cups ice
whipped cream & shaved chocolate for garnish
Instructions
- In a double boiler or microwave, melt the chocolate in a medium bowl. Note: Bittersweet chocolate is traditional; however, we used semi-sweet chocolate with great results. Kids may prefer the sweetness of the semi-sweet chocolate.
- Stir the Aztec Spiced Cocoa, sugar and half of the milk into the melted chocolate until smooth.
- Place the ice, remaining milk and chocolate mixture into a blender. Blend on high into a slushy, icy mixture. Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream and grated chocolate.
