We love a good store bought makeover trick. Almost as much as we love sticky buns! In this version, we use convenient canned cinnamon rolls, a refrigerator staple, and top them with a homemade sweet-spiced, pecan-studded topping. The sublime Chai-scented topping comes together in a snap and the result will rock your world.
Read our blog about the five store bought items we transformed from so-so to sensational.
1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls
6 Tbl unsalted butter | |
1/2 cup brown sugar | |
1 Tbl corn syrup | |
1 Tbl Pure Vanilla Puree
1 tsp Chai Spice | |
1 cup chopped Pecans |
1. | Preheat oven to 350°F. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup, extract and Chai Spice. |
2. | Pour this mixture into a 8-inch round cake pan or pie tin. Sprinkle the pecans over the sugar mixture. Set the cinnamon rolls on top of the sugar mixture and pecans. |
3. | Bake for 20 min or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and firm to the touch. Remove from the oven. Place a plate over the pan and invert the cinnamon rolls onto the plate so that the sugar and pecan mixture is now on top of the rolls. Drizzle with the icing from the can of cinnamon rolls. Serve hot. |
