Sports drinks provide important post-workout hydration. A good balance of sodium, magnesium and carbohydrates are essential to properly hydrate and restore electrolytes. We set out to make our own sports drink and chose vitamin-rich Rooibos tea and mineral-rich Himalayan Salt for a non-caffeinated, delicious drink filled with anti-inflammatory and restorative benefits.
1 oz Vanilla Rooibos Tea | |
1/4 tsp Extra Fine Himalayan Salt | |
1 tsp Calcium Magnesium Powder (we used unflavored Natural Calm) | |
2 Tbl Honey |
1. | Place 4 Tbl Vanilla Rooibos Tea in an infuser and pour 2 cups boiling water over the tea. Steep for 20 minutes. |
2. | Pour the Rooibos concentrate in a 1 quart container. Add the Himalayan Salt, Magnesium Powder and honey. Stir to combine. Add ice or water to fill the quart container. |
