1 lb ground chuck | |
2 Tbl BBQ Shrimp Seasoning
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbl Caramelized Onion Avocado Oil
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Mayo, mustard, ketchup for the sauce
Buns, lettuce and pickles for serving |
1. | Combine the ground beef and Grilled Shrimp Blend. Divide into 4 balls. Alternately, you can divide into 8 patties and create double patty burgers. If you opt for 8 patties, your cook time will be cut in half. |
2. | Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over high heat. Drizzle in the Caramelized Onion Avocado Oil and place the ground beef balls in the skillet. |
3. | Use a piece of parchment and a solid spatula to smash! Place the parchment on the meat ball. Place the spatula on the parchment. Use the handle of a wooden spoon or a potato masher to press on the spatula and smash the burgers very thin. Remove the parchment and season the patties with salt & pepper. |
4. | Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and top with cheddar cheese. The cheese will melt and the edges will get crispy. Continue cooking for another 4 minutes. |
5. | While the burgers are cooking, toast the buns with butter. |
6. | To make the sauce, combine 2 Tbl each mayo, mustard and ketchup. |
7. | To serve, dress the toasted buns with the sauce, lettuce and pickles. |
