Listen to Smidgen: 7 Halloween Recipes for Spooky Fun

Get creative with some spooky-themed treats to delight ghouls and goblins – and feed a crowd! Try these fun dishes that are munchable, memorable and easy. From tasty appetizers, dips, main dishes and desserts, this menu is all treats – no tricks!

1- Spooky Halloween Root Beer

This sweet, bubbly root beer is perfect for topping a big frosty mug of ice cream or sipping on its own. Root Beer Extract adds a classic frosty mug flavor and makes for a delicious bubbling brew. We use dry ice for a spooky effect, and it adds a little effervescence. If you want to capture the bubbles, be sure to bottle it quickly while the brew is still bubbling!

2- Matcha Popcorn

Matcha powder is finely ground green tea leaves that whisk up into a tasty beverage like Matcha Lemonade. Or a smoothie like Smoothie Bowls. Or to make this sweet-n-salty, oh-so-lovely snack. Stovetop popcorn meets our Traditional Matcha. Here’s another recipe to add to your must-try list.

3- Sheet Pan Nachos

Game night, girls night, date night, any night is right for these sheet pan nachos! We season the beef to perfection with our Taco Tuesday Blend, then it’s time for assembly. We love how the sheet pan allows for an even layer of chips and maximum topping coverage – no naked chips on the bottom. All toppings are supported by chippage (is that a word?) While we may not be using all the nacho engineering terminology correctly (nacho engineering is a thing, right?) – these nachos are 100% just right.

4- Smoky Sloppy Joes

We turned to our friends at Bad Byron’s to help us re-invent this childhood classicBad Byron’s Butt Rub has a funny name and some serious flavor. We jazzed up the tomato-rich sauce with this smoky grilling blend and loaded up buttery buns with the result. Feels like weeknight sitcoms, homework and nostalgia.

5- Pumpkin Soup with Spicy Pepitas

Pumpkin (and butternut squash) is an interesting ingredient because it plays well with other flavors on both the sweet and savory spectrums. Pumpkin pie with a chocolate ribbon? Yes, please. Pumpkin and smoky-spicy flavors? All day long. For this soup, we combine roasted pumpkin with our sublimely smoky and subtly spicy Chipotle Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We add in our Belle Ville Blend for a bowlful of comfort that will have you coming back for seconds.

6- Mummy Wrapped Brie

Mummified baked brie is a spooktacular Halloween recipe. Puff pastry “bandages” encase the creamy brie studded with Fig Pepper Jelly and Berbere Spiced Pecans. A delicious app with definite eye appeal. The perfect addition to any Halloween spread.

7- Creepy Witches Fingers

Subtly-sweet cookies with a not-so-subtle Halloween vibe. Creepy Witches Finger Cookies are all about adding spooky whimsy to your  Halloween party spread. Eerie and lifelike, complete with almond “nails,” you might hesitate in taking a bite, but trust us, once you do, they’re such a treat. No tricks. Our Almond Extract makes for the perfect flavor for these buttery fingers of deliciousness.
