We love reading the food trend predictions each year. This list from Southern Living had us especially excited to see a return of iceberg lettuce and a return to French toast. Here’s our take and recipe recommendations on Southern Living’s list – we’d love to see all of these trend (or continue to trend) in 2024!

1- French Toast

Can something as timeless as French toast suddenly trend? Trend or not, we’re here for it! This delicious breakfast and brunch staple is versatile, ready and waiting for fillings, fruit, toppings, syrups and sauces. We love this comforting, nostalgic dish that makes use of a surplus of bread. We love this resurgence of a classic. Try these yummy French Toast recipes:

2- Italian American Favorites

Italian-American dishes are a flavorful blend of old world traditions with American innovation. From hearty pasta dishes to iconic sub sandwiches, this trend is all about big-batch, feed-a-crowd dishes that a simple and satisfying. These comfort meals lean on pantry staples and are a big bang for your buck – and tastebuds! Here are some Italian American favorites:

3- Spritzes

5- Snack Boards aka “Girl Dinner”

Store owner Anne’s daughter Emma was having girl dinner before we knew to call it so. Emma called it “bits and pieces” – cheese, fruit, hummus, a few crackers and pickles – assembled on a plate and she was satisfied. Sounds a whole lot like a snack board to us! Hitting the fridge (and pantry) and collecting small snacks, dips and cheeses is an easy and satisfying lazy dinner. The trick? 6- Tahini
